CLOSURE OF MANUFACTURING PLANT IN PENANG, MALAYSIA

BackSep 30, 2008
The Board of Directors ("the Board") of Tri-M Technologies (S) Limited (the "Company") wishes to announce that the Group will be closing its manufacturing operations in Penang, Malaysia.

After assessing and evaluating the current market conditions of the electronics business, the Board is of the view that it is no longer viable to maintain a separate manufacturing facility in Penang. This closure will consolidate and optimize the usage of the Group's manufacturing activities in Shenzhen and is a continuing part of the Group's cost saving exercise.

The Group also intends to sell a majority of assets in its manufacturing operations in Penang, Malaysia, in order to repay certain bank borrowings and reduce the Group's financial liabilities.

The total cost of this exercise, including retrenchment and relocation costs, write-offs and other related costs, will be approximately S$1.35 million based on prevailing regulatory and market conditions, which will be funded from internal resources and shareholder loans.

This closure will have a material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets and earnings per share of the Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2008 and will result in reducing the net tangible assets and earnings per share by approximately 0.49 cents.

None of the Directors or the substantial shareholders of the Company has any interest, direct or indirect, in the above transaction.
